I recently made this hostess apon for a friend. I used It's So Easy, It's Simplicity #W2319, blue cotton fabric and white eyelet lace from the stash. The bib and pockets are embellished with two colors of top stitching, white and blue. This apron is an example of using multiple rows of top stitching for a decorative effect.
To stitch the design on the bib, I only drew a few lines to start out with (a square and two lines). The rest was sewn following the previous rows of stitching.
I really like this apron pattern. It sews up fast. It's feminine yet simple, with plenty of opportunities for embellishment. Big pockets are always a plus for an apron. I really thought the way they designed the adjustable neck strap was ingenious. The neck strap and apron ties are all one long piece that is threaded through facings running down each side of the bib. Clever!
