Gray A Line Skirt

Posted on March 19, 2013 at 6:00 AM

This is a gray A line skirt with red top stitching, made from Simplicity #9825. Instead of a waistband, this pattern has a faced yoke. This was made from the same fashion fabric as the Gray Jacket. It has two faux hip pockets (made from view B), with black heart shaped buttons. I also went ahead and lined it with gray lining fabric.

The heart shaped buttons on the pockets and the red top stitching give this skirt charm. When I wore it, I received many compliments. Apparently, this skirt is especially flattering.

Even with the red stiches, the skirt is still neutral and seems to go with everything, including my tapestry jacket.

This is my most used skirt pattern. Because I have made this skirt so many times and there is no waistband or darts, it sewed up fast.
